Hello!
I’ve been running a podcast since 2023. That’s almost 2 years now. Posting weekly, sometimes more, hosting multiple guests, running a blog, posting to YouTube, infrequently, streaming, writing books, writing a newsletter, etc.
And all of that with an audience of 0.
Well, not quite 0.
I have 4 listeners on the podcast, I have 0 purchases of my books, 0 readers on this blog, and 20 or so views on a video I post to YouTube.
And you know what? That’s okay!
I have a lot of confidence that I will get where I’m supposed to be going.
I have a lot of inputs, a lot of drive, focus, determination and hope that: I won’t be working a 9 to 5 for the next 40+ years.
Because who wants that?
I heard someone say:
I’d rather be broke and doing what I want than rich and stuck
Fair enough.
I can relate to that. Yes, the money is good. Yes, I like free housing. Yes, I like eating at nice places and staying at nice hotels and booking flights around the world.
But at what expense?
Yes, it is more than possible to keep this “9 to 5” (8 to 4) job and keep a nice income and save some and work on goals. I get plenty of travel time every month and live a nice, comfortable life.
But there’s more to life than working for money.
I want to explore. I want to see the world. I want to spread my wings and set sails and chase that horizon.
I’m a peacock—you gotta let me fly!
What that means for me
I’ll be heading to Hawaii soon. November, if you can call that soon.
No job prospects. No future goals or plans. Just the wide open world—and a dream.
To chase the dream or die trying.
To get 1,000 listeners on the podcast or die trying.
To get $300 from YouTube or die trying.
Seriously. I’d rather die trying than stay stuck where I am.
Because God always blesses me.
And it only gets better moving forward.
